This is the introduction to the Study of the Flower. The Flower's Story tells of the interdependence of the flowers and the insect world. Each cannot exist without the other. This is the marvel of pollination. As with all the different parts of the plant study, the function, presented in a story introduces the student to the great work of the plant and elicits gratitude for that work from the child.

This lesson is often given in the Primary along with matching cards to learn the names of the parts of the flower. In the Elementary it is given after the Story of the Flower. It is an early elementary lesson that can always be expanded upon with older students.

This is the third lesson in the Study of the Flower. In this lesson we look closer at the parts and function of the pistil of a flower.

The Inflorescence of a plant is the flowering portion of the plant. There is a wide variety in how a plant puts forth its flowers. This lesson presents the growth pattern of a plant's inflorescence. It defines an indeterminate and a determinate inflorescence.
